About

Winshaw Vineyards is a winery near Somerset West offering wine tastings and lunches on our working farm. We pour our range of wines, including Pinot Gris, Swashbuckler Chenin Blanc, and Fox Cabernet Sauvignon, with seating in the tree-shaded garden or our indoor area. Our kitchen serves dishes featuring beef from grass-fed cattle reared right here on the farm, including beef burgers, steak tartare, and sirloin steaks alongside double-fried chips. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

What a gem! Winshaw Vineyards has such a beautiful setting. The service was amazing, and JP made our wine tasting extra special by sharing the fascinating story behind the farm and its wines. We had their signature beef burger, which was absolutely delicious! Great wine, incredible food and such a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

We visited Winshaw Vineyards to try their Pinot Gris after hearing so many good things, but we walked away loving so much more. We didn't make a booking prior to visiting, and one of the owners noted we were incredibly lucky to get a table as they are usually fully packed. Our table was outside in the tree-shaded garden, which was super relaxing, but they do also have a small inside seating area for those bad weather days. From arriving to leaving, we enjoyed the entire experience. We ended up trying all of their wines and one of the owners personally took us through each of them, sharing interesting tasting notes and backstories. For lunch, we tried their burgers and the Steak Tartare, which was super fresh and bursting with flavor, and to round out the experience, all the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. We came for the Pinot Gris, but left loving the entire Winshaw experience. We will definitely be back.

The five-star rating for Winshaw Vineyards is so well deserved. We spent an idyllic Father's Day sitting in the beautiful gardens under the mini lemon trees, enjoying the Autumnal sun. The grass-fed cattle reared on the farm produce the most excellent Sirloin steaks. The menu is short and showcases the farm's beef, although there is a vegetarian Aubergine Parmigiana for non-meat eaters. The house-made vinaigrette that accompanies the fresh and generous house salad as a side to the main was exquisite. The chips are double-fried and made the real way - with proper potatoes! Homemade ice cream made with the farm free-range eggs is perfect simplicity. Wine tasting is a must, and we enjoyed the Fox Cabernet Sauvignon and the Swashbuckler Chenin Blanc. The history of Winshaw is a true swashbucking adventure, and Pierre Winshaw was on hand to regale us with the fascinating tales of his ancestors. Winshaw is one of those subtle, low-key destinations that needs no influencers or faux foodies to blow its trumpet. It speaks quietly of quality, great service, and it offers a warm and genuine welcome. This place has heart and soul - it is the real deal. We will be back!

One of THE loveliest wine farms I have been to to date. It's cosy, warm and welcoming. The staff are so helpful and beyond friendly and accommodating. The views are spectacular and you may even be greeted by the lovely cows or adorable farm dog. A definite must visit if you truly want to enjoy a cosy atmosphere, great wine and food and amazing service.

The first and definitely not the last time we’ll be visiting Winshaw for lunch. What a hidden gem. The location is perfect: a working farm with cows roaming around, tables under the trees and very friendly and hospitable people who like to have a conversation with their guests. The food and wine were of course the highlights: a good burger with crispy fries, very tasteful steak tartare and a side salad. Accompanied with their cab.sav and bordeaux blend. We’ll be back!
