Ridgeback Wines – Stunning Views and Outstanding Wines Ridgeback Wines impresses from the moment you arrive, with a beautiful setting that makes it easy to unwind and soak in the surroundings. The tasting experience is elevated by excellent service — staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel at ease as you explore the wines. The wines themselves are outstanding, showcasing quality, balance, and the character of the estate. Each sip reflects care and craft, making it clear why Ridgeback is a standout in the region. The only drawback was the tasting room’s air conditioning, which struggled in the summer heat, and no fans were available to help. While it didn’t overshadow the experience, it’s worth noting for those visiting on warmer days. Overall, Ridgeback Wines delivers exceptional wine, attentive service, and a setting that’s hard to beat — just plan for summer visits accordingly.

Like tasting great wine in a great location, stop here! We never pass through Windmeul (just north of Paarl) without stopping at Ridgeback Wines. The setting is absolutely beautiful - tranquil and shaded by Wilger trees next to a large pond, offering the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a wine tasting. They now have a tasting room separate from the restaurant, and I wish they will consider to add more food options at the wine tasting venue (like it was before). The wines are excellent, with their Cabernet Franc being a particular favourite and a regular award-winner. Ryno always makes the tasting experience very enjoyable with his witty, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and genuinely passionate about the wines demeanour. It’s the kind of place where you arrive as a visitor and leave feeling like a friend. We never leave here without a case or two! One of our favourite wine tasting spots because it is unpretentious, friendly service, stunning setting, and consistently great wines. See you next time!

A remarkable experience. Good food, good wine beautiful setting! We went there yesterday with our little girl. She enjoyed the playground and the animals, while we relaxed by doing a tasting. AJ served us and he was outstanding. Very friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed lunch and the food was excellent. It is one of our new favorite spots for both adult and child.
