Had a wonderful tasting accompanied by a meal on the terrace. Exquisite wines. 2015 Cabernets and Webb Ellis truly remarkable. Chicken sosaties, balanced curry and roasted potatoes, a perfect accompaniment. Baked Alaska was a perfect close, such flavor depth. Our server, Michayla was highly attentive and professional. Setting was gorgeous. Highly recommended stopping by.
We are an absolute fan favourite of Neil Ellis. We first had it in Johannesburg in Marble and loved it since. My fiancé and I love buying the Sauvignon Blanc in the UK and having to experience it in person is just perfection! We love it! The Caesar salad is light and delicious! Nothing but praises for this lovely winery.
10/10 for the flat bread (The Italian) definitely coming back for another one. Art and food and well put together in a beautiful setting.
Neil Ellis offers a well appointed and comfortable tasting experience. The venue is easy to access with ample parking, well maintained bathrooms, and expansive views that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The wines are competently crafted and approachable, showing balance and restraint, though they do not strongly distinguish themselves within their categories. That said, the tasting is thoughtfully presented and suits visitors looking for an unpretentious introduction to the range. A notable point of interest is the estate’s historical connection to Jonkershoek Valley, an area long regarded as one of Stellenbosch’s most important viticultural regions due to its cool mountain influences and early role in South African winemaking. This context adds depth to the visit and helps frame the wines within a broader heritage.
