Lievland Vineyards is a winery in Stellenbosch located along the R44. Our estate features an on-site tasting room and the Lievland Café, with outdoor seating on a terrace overlooking the vineyards, lawns, and dam.
Our wine tastings highlight varietals such as Chenin Blanc, Cinsault, Rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside chocolate pairings, charcuterie platters, breakfast dishes, and a Sunday roast.
We came accross Lievland by accident and what an amazing accident- we had the best time on a beautiful Sunday afternoon sitting on the terrace drinking and eating - I am sitting at home in wet England drinking the best Cinsault wine and wishing it was last Sunday. We will definitely be back and next time will have the Sunday Roast.

Visited Lievland Winery and had a really lovely experience. 🍷
The tasting included six wines, all different enough to keep things interesting.
The white wines were fresh and easy to enjoy. The Sauvignon Blanc and the Rosé were definite highlights, with the Rosé especially standing out — it had more depth and felt a bit more special than your average rosé.
Some of the whites were slightly on the acidic side, but still very enjoyable.
On the red side, the Cinsault was light, refreshing, and great slightly chilled, making it an easy-drinking favourite. The Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon were classic and straightforward — not standouts, but well made and pleasant.
My wife had the pairing with 4 wines and it was the real highlight. 🍫 It included three chocolate-covered nuts and one chocolate-covered cranberry, each matched with a different wine.
The combinations worked really well and it's definitely worth trying. Each pairing complimented the wine and in the Chenin Blancs case, it really filled filled a hole in the flavor profile of the wine and balanced out the acidity nicely.
The tasting was affordable, the staff were friendly, and the tasting room is small, cozy, and full of charm. The terrace has a beautiful view of the vineyards, a small dam, and a grassy area that makes the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. 🌿
Overall, Lievland is a great budget-friendly wine tasting option with good wines, a fun pairing, and a laid-back atmosphere. Perfect for a casual stop.
Cheers! 🥂

Lievland is a beautiful little gem with a good breakfast and a lovely wine- chocolate tasting. It’s not that busy so we enjoyed our tranquility there. Would love to come again.

Lievland has quietly become one of those rare places I keep returning to, not just for the views or the serenity, but for how effortlessly everything comes together. Their Chenin Blancs are consistently outstanding: bright, elegant, and full of character. The rosé is a personal favorite on sunnier days, and there’s something deeply comforting about lingering over a glass with one of their generous charcuterie platters, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully balanced.
But what truly makes it special is the team. Warm, gracious, genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you’re popping in for a quick tasting or staying for a slow afternoon under the trees, there’s a sense of ease and welcome that’s rare to find.
It’s not just a vineyard, it’s a place that somehow always feels like the right place to be. Thanks, Lievland for the wine, the warmth, and the moments.

Perfect spot for brunch. Had the most peaceful and wonderful experience in celebrating my sister’s birthday at Lievland’s Cafe. Great food, decor and service. The nature surrounding it makes you almost feel like you have traveled to another world.
