A great winter wine tasting option — the tasting room has a fire going, which makes a real difference on a cold Stellenbosch day. Genuinely good value across the range; the Chenin and the Chardonnay were the standouts for me. Worth staying on for lunch at the restaurant rather than rushing off. 🍷

I always drink their wine at home so it was very exciting to do restaurant week with them. When we arrived, we were greeted with a glass of MCC and a beautiful view of the estate. The options on the menu were plenty and they all looked delicious. The dishes were well presented and were even more delicious than they looked. After we were done eating so much, we decided to walk around the beautiful estate and wow the garden is so green and lush. I highly recommend this gem in Stellies.

Where else to combine an exquisite meal with beautiful wines? What Zalze does very well is serving full, tasty dishes that have a high end feel, but at the same time are seemingly based in fundamental flavours. They pair them with their own wines, obviously tasty in their own right. What I missed was a bit of information about the wines were drinking. Not that service wasn’t up there, it just wasn’t offered when bringing out wines. The location is nice, not as nice in other wine estates I visited, but beautiful in its own right. Again: tastes and flavours are on point!
